One has no control
Over the circumstances of his/her birth,
And only slightly more
Over the length of time he/she spends here.
But he/she does have the decisive voice
On how he/she spends
The undetermined span between.
And, from that interval,
He/She will realize the most
Who maintains broadness of vision,
Curiosity and perception of mind,
Courage and fortitude of spirit,
And--most importantly--
A willingness to make use of them.
